Industrialist Harsh Goenka calls Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 a “masterpiece,” comparing it to Singapore’s Changi, as leaders hail it as a symbol of modern India’s infrastructure vision.
Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) Terminal 2 is once again winning hearts, and comparisons to some of the world’s finest airports. Industrialist Harsh Goenka recently took to social media to laud the terminal’s design, calling it a “masterpiece” that rivals Singapore’s iconic Changi Airport.
Bengaluru airport is a masterpiece- lush, serene, and world-class. Even the restrooms feel futuristic, and there are attendants at every baggage belt ensuring each bag lands softly. Only Singapore’s Changi can compete with this airport. #IndiaRisingpic.twitter.com/Bfuiaqmtyw

Goenka highlighted the terminal’s soothing architecture, lush greenery, and impeccable service, even noting the staff’s care in ensuring luggage lands gently on conveyor belts. “Only Singapore’s Changi can compete with this airport,” he wrote, sparking admiration from netizens who echoed his praise.
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya also weighed in, calling Terminal 2 “a benchmark that modern India should aspire to” in terms of infrastructure excellence. Built at a cost of ₹5,000 crore, the terminal was completed in just three years, from its 2019 groundbreaking to its 2022 inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Designed around a sustainability-first philosophy, the facility features vertical gardens, indigenous trees, and natural lighting, all while accommodating 25 million passengers annually through cutting-edge automation and contactless systems.
Yes indeed, Bengaluru Airport is truly a masterpiece and world-class.

However, the online praise also came with a dose of realism. Some users pointed out the irony of Bengaluru boasting a world-class airport while grappling with civic problems like traffic chaos and poor roads. “We are proud of 10 sq km of great infrastructure but have left 1,000 sq km of our city in shambles,” one user commented, capturing the city’s contrasting realities.
