Dense fog, cold winds and falling temperatures turned Bengaluru into a hill-station-like city, with stunning drone visuals by renowned operator Srihari Karanth going viral amid a statewide cold wave.
Bengaluru experienced an unusually cold and misty morning, resembling the weather of a hill station like Ooty, as dense fog and chilly winds swept across the city. The Silicon City was blanketed in a thick layer of mist, creating visually striking scenes that left residents both amazed and shivering.
The fog-covered skyline and cold ambience were beautifully captured by noted drone operator Srihari Karanth, whose aerial visuals showcased Bengaluru in a rare and mesmerising form. The drone footage highlighted mist-laden skies, calm streets and a cool cityscape, drawing widespread attention on social media. The video, praised for its camera work and timing, quickly went viral.

According to the weather department, temperatures across Karnataka have dropped significantly, with cold conditions expected to continue in the coming days. North Karnataka, Kalyana Karnataka, Bengaluru and several parts of South Interior Karnataka are witnessing intensified cold winds.
In Bengaluru, minimum temperatures are expected to range between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius, causing discomfort during early mornings and late nights. Residents reported sharp cold winds and foggy surroundings, especially in low-lying and open areas.

Several districts across the state recorded low minimum temperatures, indicating the spread of cold conditions:

The Meteorological Department stated that most regions will continue to experience either dry weather or moderate to severe cold conditions. Northern districts and parts of southern interior Karnataka are expected to remain particularly cold.
With foggy mornings, falling temperatures and viral visuals capturing the city’s rare winter charm, Bengaluru is currently witnessing one of its coldest phases of the season.
