A new high-tech skywalk connecting Pattandur Agrahara Metro Station to ITPB and Park Square Mall has been opened, offering safe and seamless access for thousands of daily commuters.
Metro commuters in Whitefield have received a major boost with the inauguration of a new skywalk connecting Pattandur Agrahara Metro Station to the International Tech Park Bengaluru (ITPB). The project is expected to significantly ease daily travel for thousands of office-goers working in one of Bengaluru’s largest technology hubs.
The skywalk was inaugurated by BMRCL Project and Planning Director Subrahmanya, along with Gauri Shankar Nagabhushana, CEO of CapitaLand India Trust. The structure has been built strictly in line with designs approved by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
Developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model by CapitaLand in coordination with BMRCL, the skywalk has been constructed at a cost of around ₹30 crore, with work completed over nearly one year. The elevated walkway is 320 feet long and stands at a height of 24 feet above the road, allowing commuters to move safely without stepping onto busy roads.

The facility enables direct access from the Metro station to ITPB, which houses over 140 companies and attracts employees from across Bengaluru and neighbouring districts. Around 55,000 employees working in the tech park are expected to benefit from this seamless connectivity. The skywalk also provides direct access to Park Square Mall, adding convenience for both office-goers and visitors.
Equipped with modern lighting, escalators and lift facilities, the skywalk ensures comfortable movement for all commuters, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Until now, Metro users had to descend to road level and navigate heavy traffic to reach their offices. With the new skywalk, employees can now walk straight from the Metro station to their workplaces, saving time and avoiding traffic-related stress.
Whitefield, often referred to as the Silicon City’s tech hub, sees lakhs of people commuting daily. Officials believe the skywalk will not only improve last-mile connectivity but also encourage more commuters to opt for Metro travel.
