BMRCL Managing Director Dr. J. Ravishankar reviews ongoing construction on Phase-2 Pink Line corridor, covering civil works, stations, viaduct, and system installations from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara.
The Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), Dr. J. Ravishankar, along with senior BMRCL officials, conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing construction works on the Pink Line Metro corridor under Phase-2 of the Namma Metro project. The visit focused on Reach-6, which includes a key elevated corridor section.
During the inspection, Dr. Ravishankar closely reviewed multiple aspects of the project, including civil construction, station development, viaduct erection, and system-related installations. Officials and contractors involved in the project were present at the site to brief the MD on the current progress and timelines.

The Pink Line is a crucial upcoming metro route that will connect Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara, significantly improving north-south connectivity across Bengaluru. The entire corridor spans 21.25 kilometres and includes a total of 18 stations, six elevated stations and twelve underground stations, making it one of the most ambitious metro projects in the city.

As part of the ongoing preparations, BMRCL is working towards opening the first operational stretch of the Pink Line by May. The initial phase will include six elevated stations located between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere. Construction teams are currently accelerating work to ensure that civil structures, station facilities, track installation, and system integration are completed on schedule.

Officials stated that the inspection aimed to assess on-ground challenges, monitor quality standards, and ensure that safety and technical norms are being strictly followed. The MD emphasized timely completion while maintaining high construction and safety benchmarks.

Once operational, the Pink Line is expected to significantly reduce travel time, ease traffic congestion, and enhance public transport connectivity across major residential and commercial zones of Bengaluru. The progress of Reach-6 marks an important milestone in the overall execution of Phase-2 of the Namma Metro expansion.
