Bengaluru will host a crucial workshop aimed at combating the rising threat of human trafficking, with a special focus on the railway network. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Bengaluru Division, South Western Railway, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (NCW), is organizing a day-long event titled 'Anti-Human Trafficking' on October 14.

Scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Karnataka State Government Employees Association auditorium in Cubbon Park, the workshop will serve as a key platform to raise awareness and educate various stakeholders about the growing challenges of human trafficking. The event will provide insights on preventive measures, early detection techniques, and strategies to combat trafficking networks, particularly through the railways.
V. Somanna will inaugurate the workshop
The Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, V. Somanna, will inaugurate the workshop. The event will also feature a keynote address by Vijaya K. Rahatkar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, who will share her expert views on the critical need to address this issue.
The workshop is expected to attract law enforcement personnel, railway authorities, social workers, and other key stakeholders, fostering greater collaboration in the fight against human trafficking. Through this initiative, the organisers aim to build a more informed and proactive approach to curbing trafficking within the region.
