BIAL has partnered with Mu Sigma to make Bengaluru Airport an 'algorithmic airport,' using real-time analytics to cut congestion, improve efficiency

Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) has announced a strategic partnership with Mu Sigma, a global decision sciences company, to embed data-driven decision-making across airport operations. The collaboration aims to position Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru as an “algorithmic airport,” where real-time analytics anticipate passenger needs, streamline operations, and enhance the travel experience.

Data-Driven Operations

Through Mu Sigma’s Decision Intelligence Platform, BIAL will unify data from multiple systems, enabling proactive service delivery. Predictive analytics will be applied across key touchpoints to forecast demand, identify patterns, and optimize services in real time.

Passenger-Centric Initiatives

Planned measures include reducing congestion at retail outlets, food courts, and parking facilities using demand forecasting. Dynamic pricing and real-time forecasting will improve parking and transport services. Passengers using the Pulse App and airport website will benefit from tailored recommendations, loyalty rewards, and timely notifications. Enhanced signage and location-based promotions will further simplify navigation inside the terminal.
