Spread over 41 acres near Devanahalli, SAP’s new India Innovation Park will house 14,000 employees and serve as a global co-innovation and R&D hub.

Global enterprise software giant SAP has inaugurated a massive new campus in Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and research in India. Situated on 41 acres in Devanahalli, close to the Kempegowda International Airport, this state-of-the-art facility is now SAP’s second-largest R&D center globally, outside of Germany.

Dubbed the India Innovation Park, the campus is being developed in phases. Currently, 27 acres have been built and are functional, accommodating around 3,200 employees. An additional 4,500 staff are set to move in during this first phase. Once fully developed, the campus will have the capacity to host up to 14,000 professionals.

With a total investment exceeding €194 million, the new Bengaluru campus adds to SAP’s existing operations in Whitefield and reflects the company’s long-term vision for its India operations.

Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director of SAP Labs India, described the campus as a nucleus of collaborative innovation, bringing together enterprises, academic institutions, startups, and local communities. She emphasized its significance in driving advancements in artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and next-gen enterprise solutions.

This expansion mirrors a broader industry shift, with global tech leaders increasingly turning to India for high-value R&D and digital capabilities. Bengaluru, often dubbed India’s Silicon Valley, now hosts over 875 Global Capability Centers and represents more than a third of the nation’s GCC workforce.

SAP’s footprint in India is already significant, with over 17,000 employees across the country. Impressively, more than 40% of SAP’s global R&D team operates out of India. As the GCC sector in India is forecast to grow into a $99–105 billion market by 2030 (as per Nasscom), SAP’s latest investment aligns with this rapid evolution.

The India Innovation Park not only reinforces SAP’s global leadership in enterprise software but also elevates Bengaluru’s status as a key driver in the future of tech innovation.
