Bengaluru will once again play host to one of the most awaited media events of the year as The New Indian Times (TNIT) prepares to felicitate journalists for their outstanding contributions. The awards ceremony, which has been running successfully for eight years, will be held on August 23 at 3 pm at Shringar Garden, Palace Grounds, Gate No. 8.
Recognising Voices of the People
Since its inception, the TNIT Awards have been dedicated to acknowledging the tireless efforts of journalists who act as the voice of the common people. Every year, the event celebrates anchors, reporters, editors, cameramen, and other professionals who shape the media landscape, often working behind the scenes. This year will be no different, as TNIT once again takes the initiative to shine a spotlight on those whose work keeps society informed and empowered.

Over 40 Media Houses Represented
Last year, the awards gained significant attention when achievers from more than 40 news organisations across South India were recognised. The 2024 edition is expected to follow the same trend, drawing participation from across the region. The event has established itself as a meaningful platform for honouring journalistic excellence and is now regarded as one of the leading recognitions for the media fraternity in South India.
Categories of Excellence
The TNIT media awards will be presented across multiple categories, including Best Anchor, Best Reporter, Best Video Editor, Best Copy Editor, Best Voice Over Artist, and Best Cameraman, among others. Each category is designed to highlight the diversity of talent and effort within the media sector.
Film and Media Fraternity to Join the Celebration
Adding glamour to the evening, prominent stars from the Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam film industries are set to attend the function. Their presence, alongside senior journalists and respected media professionals, is expected to make the awards night a memorable celebration of both talent and dedication.
Looking Ahead
In last year’s ceremony, five professionals from News First received honours, setting a benchmark for recognition. As the countdown begins, anticipation is building to see who will take home the accolades this year. With just a few days left, excitement is mounting across newsrooms and media circles.
The TNIT Awards 2024 promise to be more than just a ceremony—it is a tribute to the relentless spirit of journalism and an acknowledgment of those who keep truth and storytelling alive.
