Traffic restrictions announced in Varthur-Whitefield area for Channarayaswamy Jatra from Jan 25 to 27

Traffic restrictions and alternative routes have been announced in Varthur, Whitefield limits, from January 25-27, 2026, due to Sri Channarayaswamy Jatra and related festivities. Commuters are advised to plan travel in advance.

Bengaluru Traffic Police announce route changes and security measures from January 25 to 27 for religious events in Whitefield traffic limits.

Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory in view of the Sri Channarayaswamy Jatra Rathotsava, Dipotsava, Karaga and Pallakki programs scheduled from January 25 to January 27, 2026. The events will take place in Varthur, under the jurisdiction of the Whitefield Traffic Police Station.

To ensure smooth movement of vehicles and public safety, traffic arrangements and diversions have been put in place across key stretches in and around Varthur, Gunjur and Whitefield.

Alternative routes for light vehicles have been suggested to avoid congestion. Vehicles traveling from Gunjur towards Whitefield can take a right turn near Sri Ram Temple, proceed via Halasahalli Road, and pass through Maduranagar, Surahunase, Valepura, and Varthur Government College Road. Vehicles from Whitefield heading towards Gunjur can use the Immidahalli–Valepura–Surahunase Road via Maduranagar, passing Gunjur and Varthur Police Station. Those heading towards Kundalahalli and Marathahalli from Gunjur can use Gunjur KFC Road, Panathur Railway Bridge, and VIBGYOR School Road.

For heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), those coming from Hoskote must proceed via Hopefarm Junction and take the Channasandra route towards Sarjapur through Varthur Kodi. HGVs from Sarjapur are advised to use Chikkatirupathi, Dommasandra, Kodati and Bellandur routes. BMTC buses from Gunjur Depot-41 towards Gunjur-Varthur will operate via Hosahalli, Maduranagar, Varthur and Nerige Road.

The advisory has been issued by Sahil Bagla, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic East Division, Bengaluru City. The public has been requested to cooperate and follow traffic instructions during the festival period.
