A viral image showing an eight-lane jam near a major tech park has reignited public frustration over Bengaluru’s chronic traffic woes, drawing sharp reactions across social media.
A viral photo circulating on social media has once again thrown the spotlight on Bengaluru’s persistent and overwhelming traffic crisis. The image, shared by the handle Bangalore Metro Updates on X (formerly Twitter), captures a massive eight-lane traffic jam on both sides of a busy arterial road, packed with cars, two-wheelers, buses, and commercial vehicles moving inch by inch.

According to the post, the congestion appears to be on a stretch leading to one of Bengaluru’s major tech parks, an area notorious for paralysing peak-hour traffic. The post read, “Can you guess this 8-lane traffic jam on both sides without even checking the vehicle number plates? Seems like an everyday scene on the stretch leading to the major tech park zone.” The image quickly went viral, drawing thousands of reactions within hours.

Social media users expressed a mix of frustration, sarcasm, and helplessness. One user wrote, “They convert 2 lanes into 5 lanes and 3 lanes into 7 lanes. Autos, tankers, tempos… all mafias. And bikers zig-zag like crazy.” Another commented on the city’s lack of adequate road networks, saying, “With this population density, Bengaluru needs at least four ring roads. One Outer Ring Road cannot handle this pressure.”
Others mocked the city’s infrastructure planning, with a user writing, “Don’t worry, more lanes and flyovers will fix everything. If not, we now have tunnels, the same as flyovers but underground!”
The viral photo has once again triggered debate over traffic management, road discipline, and the urgent need for long-term urban mobility solutions in India’s tech capital.
