A new and well-organised women theft gang has reportedly entered Bengaluru, targeting apartment complexes using deception and teamwork to commit theft and escape quickly. In a recent incident, six women allegedly stole cash and gold ornaments from an apartment in Yeshwanthpur by posing as artificial jewellery sellers.

The theft took place at Golden Apartment, located within the Yeshwanthpur area. According to residents, the group arrived together and claimed they were selling artificial jewellery in the North Karnataka style. They approached residents under the pretext of business, making their entry appear harmless.

When the six women reached the apartment entrance, the security guard refused to allow all of them inside at once. At this point, four of the women stood near the gate and began engaging the security guard in conversation, deliberately diverting his attention. Meanwhile, the remaining two women quietly entered the apartment complex, taking advantage of the distraction.

Once inside, the two women moved swiftly and targeted a ground-floor residence, from where they allegedly stole ₹40,000 in cash and gold jewellery. The entire act was carried out in a calculated manner, allowing them to escape without raising immediate suspicion.

After completing the theft, the two women exited the premises and regrouped with the others. The entire gang then fled the spot together. Residents later discovered the theft and alerted the authorities.

CCTV footage installed in the apartment has clearly recorded the movements of the gang, capturing their strategy and execution. The visuals are now being examined by the police to identify and trace the accused.

Police have warned apartment residents and security staff to remain vigilant, especially when unknown persons enter residential complexes claiming to sell goods or offer services. Further investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to track down the gang and prevent similar incidents in other parts of the city.
