Yeshwantpur station’s ₹380‑cr revamp is 60% done; east side nearly ready, west side ongoing. Airport‑style hub set for mid‑to‑late 2025 commissioning
The ₹380‑level car park have been constructed, with only interior and finishing touches pending. This section is significantly ahead of the western side, which connects to the metro. There, construction of concourse, ticketing and utility blocks remains underway.
A highlight of the redevelopment is the expansive air concourse, spread across 14,800 square metres. Designed to resemble an airport waiting lounge, it will feature segregated arrival and departure flows, retail outlets, food courts and other commercial spaces. Authorities say this will ease passenger movement and enhance comfort, while also creating new revenue streams.
The next few months are expected to be crucial, as interior works, façade development and utility installations will determine commissioning timelines. Officials acknowledge that temporary inconveniences remain, with reduced waiting halls and limited passenger amenities during construction.
Once complete, Yeshwantpur will emerge as Bengaluru’s second major hub after KSR City station, offering seamless integration with metro and road transport, and setting a new benchmark for railway infrastructure in Karnataka.
