Bengaluru is set to welcome a world-class entertainment hub, Aerodrome, near Kempegowda International Airport, reaffirming the Karnataka government’s focus on arts and culture. The project, backed by government subsidies, is expected to be operational within 18 months, according to Oum Pradutt of Phase 1 Events.

A collaboration between Embassy Group, Phase 1 Events, and global entertainment giant Live Nation, Aerodrome is designed to host top international artists and revitalize the city’s live music scene.

Speaking at an event, Shivajinagar MLA Arshad Rizwan highlighted the economic impact of the entertainment industry, stressing the need for improved infrastructure and policies to support its growth. This sector generates significant revenue and employment opportunities.

Pradutt also pointed to challenges faced by artists, particularly resistance from law enforcement towards live performances. He recalled incidents like Ed Sheeran’s impromptu appearance on Church Street, which drew restrictions. Similar gatherings for religious events don’t face such hurdles.

Artistes emphasized the importance of stronger public-private partnerships to create a sustainable music ecosystem. Despite a growing number of musicians, financial stability remains elusive, with many artists juggling multiple jobs.

With Bengaluru’s vibrant music culture, Aerodrome is poised to become a landmark venue, potentially transforming the city into a global concert destination.
