As Bengaluru sizzles under the scorching sun, the city’s beer sales are reaching unprecedented heights this summer, outpacing all other spirits. Many restobars are witnessing a remarkable surge of 25–50 per cent in beer sales compared to previous years.

Seasonal beer flavours like mango and pineapple are gaining traction among beer enthusiasts.

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has also contributed to the surge in beer sales, with many restobars offering special discounts on days of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) matches. Chethan Hegde, Bengaluru Chapter head of the National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI), reportedly observed a 20 per cent overall increase in beer sales due to soaring temperatures and IPL matches. Many spirits consumers have transitioned to beer this season,” he added.

Sales naturally increase during these months due to the heat. However, during this election season, there’s been a notable surge in beer sales, with an additional 10-15% rise. This spike can be attributed to various factors, including increased social gatherings, political debates, and heightened campaigns that often accompany elections.
