Thindi Beedhi in VV Puram, popularly known as Food Street in Bengaluru will wear a new appealing look with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) splashing this street in shades of red colour.
As part of the road-redevelopment work to be completed by this month end, BBMP has decided to give a new look to Food Street by painting the entire stretch of the food street with red colour.
Food Street is around 200-metre long and five-metre wide with concrete road, that will all be painted in red.
The total cost of this project is pegged at Rs 5 crore.
"We are experimenting with a new concrete pigment from UltraTech cement. The concrete road is getting a coat of a 3mm iron oxide pigment. We have completed 70% of the road work and the remaining will be finished in the coming days," quoted The Times of India as BBMP officer saying.
Food Street is well known for having a variety of eateries selling fastfood, snacks, idlis, dosas, chats, ice-creams, sweets and so many more.
BBMP has also taken measures to keep this street clean at all times by regularly clearing waste. This street was earlier declared as 'zero waste' Food Street.
