Feminist movement is abused at times: Ranvir

Bollywood actors Ranvir Shorey and Konkana Sen Sharma got married in the year 2010. The 2 of them even have a son named Haroon. However they got divorced in the year 2020. 

Ranvir Shorey is part of Bigg Boss OTT 3 as a contestant. Rapper Naezy, who is also a contestant, talked about how Ranvir and Konkana seemed to be in a similar zone. Although Naezy did not directly address the topic of their divorce, he asked Ranvir why divorces were so common in the Hindi film industry. “Why does this happen to so many relationships in the industry? I see so many of the artists going for divorces,” Naezy asked.

Ranveer remarked that this is not something unique to Bollywood but an emerging trend in society. “The feminist movement is abused at times. At times men are unable to tolerate it and sometimes women abuse it. These are the reasons…But feminist movement is also important. In history, according to me, there is only one reason why women received second class treatment. What’s that? Women are physically weaker than men. That’s all. That’s why I say that feminist movement is important,” Ranvir said in response to Naezy’s query.
