There was a grand celebration of Deepavali on the sets of Bigg Boss Kannada season 10. Along with the joys there was also disappointment owing to Varthur Santosh’s decision to quit. Varthur Santosh is in very poor spirits owing to his decision to quit. Host of the show, Sandalwood star Sudeep also attempted to console him. “All you family members and friends are fine. Try to give your best to the game,” Sudeep said. He also reminded Varthur that he has lakhs of admirers. 

This however did not uplift his mood. The other contestants also tried their best to convince him. Actress Bhagyashree who appeared as a guest to the show also tried to instil courage in him. This too did not yield good results. 

To have him in the show, the organisers of Bigg Boss arranged a visit by Varthur’s mother inside the sets. This is the first such occurrence in the history of Bigg Boss. She packed certain gifts along with her while arriving at the sets. Varthur was filled with tears of joy on seeing his mother. 

Varthue slept on her lap and gained courage. Whether this would make him change his decision remains to be seen.
