According to Gates, AI will significantly transform industries but will not necessarily lead to mass unemployment. He pointed out that India is leveraging AI by developing open-source models tailored to local languages and needs, which could drive inclusive growth. However, he advised caution regarding large-scale chip manufacturing subsidies, emphasizing the importance of remaining competitive.

On climate change, Gates expressed concerns about the world missing its temperature control targets but remained optimistic about technological solutions. He warned that developing nations would bear the brunt of climate challenges and stressed the need for continued innovation to mitigate risks.

Gates also praised India's digital infrastructure, including Aadhaar and UPI, calling them global benchmarks in financial inclusion and governance. He noted that more industries are utilizing these innovations in banking, government services, and stock trading, exceeding his expectations.

Overall, Gates reaffirmed India’s position as a key player in global economic and technological advancements, emphasizing that its progress will contribute significantly to worldwide development.

He expressed his views at the Express Adda event in Mumbai.
