The letter states that Yatnal had been issued a show cause notice on February 10, 2025, and despite assurances of good conduct, he continued to defy party rules. Taking serious note of his repeated indiscipline, the committee decided to remove him from primary membership and all positions he held within the party.

Yatnal, the MLA from Vijayapura, is known for his outspoken views and past controversial remarks. His expulsion marks a significant move by the BJP, signaling a strict stance against dissent within its ranks.

The development has sparked political discussions in Karnataka, with speculation about Yatnal’s next move. His expulsion could impact BJP’s presence in the state ahead of upcoming elections, as he has a considerable influence in North Karnataka.

Yatnal is yet to respond publicly to the decision, but political observers believe he may explore alternative political avenues. The BJP, meanwhile, has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining party discipline and unity.
