The Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Vidhana Sabha, R.Ashok from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lashed out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over the increase in petrol, diesel and milk prices. A demonstration has been planned in this regard. A march would commence from Vidhana Sabha and proceed to the Chief Minister’s residence. This would take place either on July 3rd or on July 4th. “Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are leeching on the blood of the poor. They are being given Rs 2000 per month but close to Rs 4000 is being collected in the form of taxes,” R. Ashok said in an interaction with reports in Belagavi.

He also alleged that since the Indian National Congress (INC) was unable to win more than 10 seats in the recently concluded 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Siddaramaiah has resorted to a whimsical policy of increasing prices. He showed concern on the prospect that developmental works in the state of Karnataka may be halted due to the approach of the INC-led government towards administration. He also stated that the funds would be used to fight elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand later this year.
