In a surprising development, officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Forest Department conducted an inspection at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic residence, Mannat, in Mumbai. The visit followed a complaint filed by activist Santosh Daundkar, alleging illegal constructions and activities at the site under the guise of renovation.

The inspection team arrived at the bungalow and examined the premises thoroughly. Following the on-site visit, officials reviewed related documents and stated that a detailed report would soon be submitted for further action.

The Bollywood actor, who is among the wealthiest celebrities in India, has temporarily vacated the residence. Shah Rukh Khan, along with his wife Gauri Khan and their children, has reportedly moved into a luxury apartment in Mumbai. The actor is said to be renting four floors in a building owned by film producer Vashu Bhagnani, paying approximately ₹24 lakh per month.

Amid the allegations, Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani issued a statement dismissing the claims. “There is no illegality whatsoever. All renovation work at Mannat is being carried out in compliance with official guidelines,” she asserted.

The Mannat residence has been undergoing renovation for several weeks, which initially prompted speculation. The inspection and ongoing probe have now sparked wider public interest regarding compliance with civic and environmental norms by celebrity homeowners.
