Yellow Line Update

Meanwhile, Bengaluru’s much awaited Yellow line, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra, is expected to become operational by May 2025. Karnataka deputy chief minister and Bengaluru development minister DK Shivakumar confirmed this in response to a query by Bommanahalli MLA M Sathish Reddy during a state assembly session. The 19.1 km corridor, featuring 16 stations will significantly improve connectivity between southern Bangalore and Electronics City, reducing congestion around key traffic hotspots such as Central Silk Board.

Pink Line Update

Additionally, Shivakumar provided updates on the Pink line, which will run from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara. Covering 21.2km, it includes a 7.5km elevated stretch and a 13.7km underground section. The elevated section, from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere (Swagath Cross), is set to open by December 2025, while the underground portion from Dairy Circle to Nagawara is expected to be completed by December 2026. These developments mark significant progress in Bengaluru’s metro expansion efforts.
