In a strategic move to enhance urban mobility through digital innovation, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced the integration of its QR ticketing system with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). Commuters can now book Namma Metro tickets via nine additional apps, significantly expanding access and convenience.

The newly integrated platforms include EaseMyTrip, Highway Delite, Miles & Kilometres (via Telegram), Namma Yatri, OneTicket, Rapido, Redbus, Tummoc, and Yatri – City Travel Guide. These join existing ticketing options available through the Namma Metro app, Paytm, and BMRCL’s WhatsApp chatbot.
BMRCL Managing Director M. Maheshwar Rao, IAS, stated that the move aligns with efforts to provide seamless multimodal connectivity. With ONDC already hosting cab and auto-rickshaw services, the inclusion of metro ticketing completes a key element of integrated travel. “This initiative allows commuters to plan their entire journey using a single app, from doorstep to destination,” he noted.
With over 8.5 lakh daily commuters using Namma Metro on weekdays, this step marks a significant advancement in digital-first public transportation. BMRCL’s adoption of open network standards reflects its focus on efficiency, accessibility, and a tech-driven transit ecosystem.
The corporation has urged media outlets to spread awareness about this enhancement to ensure greater public benefit and commuter participation.
