  • Improved public transport** aims to cut travel time and reduce private vehicle dependence

In a major boost for Bengaluru’s southern commuters, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has launched a new Non-AC bus service — Route NICE-2 — starting today. The service aims to improve connectivity between Banashankari TTMC and Electronic City via Konanakunte Cross, Thalaghattapura, and NICE Road.

With four buses operating 32 trips daily, NICE-2 is expected to significantly ease the commute for thousands of office-goers, students, and industrial workers who regularly travel along this busy corridor. Until now, limited public transport options on the NICE Road stretch had forced many to rely on private vehicles and app-based cabs.

BMTC officials say the new service will not only reduce travel time but also offer a safer and more reliable travel option, especially during early morning and evening hours. The initiative comes in response to growing public demand for better transport solutions in the city’s fast-developing southern belt.

The move is being widely appreciated by commuters, especially those working in Electronic City, one of the city’s major IT hubs. BMTC has hinted at plans to introduce more such targeted routes based on commuter needs and urban traffic patterns.

The NICE-2 launch marks another step toward making Bengaluru’s public transport more accessible, efficient, and commuter-friendly.
