EOW has issued a second summons to Ashish Hemrajani

Ashish is CEO of Big Tree Entertainment's BookMyShow

He failed to respond to first notice sent on September 27

Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has issued a second summons to Ashish Hemrajani, CEO of Big Tree Entertainment, the parent company of BookMyShow, amid allegations of black market sales of Coldplay concert tickets. The move follows Hemrajani’s failure to respond to the first notice sent on September 27.

The investigation stems from a complaint filed by Advocate Amit Vyas, who has accused BookMyShow of facilitating the illegal sale of tickets for Coldplay’s upcoming concert in January 2025. The concert, set to take place at DY Patil Stadium from January 19 to 21, has generated high demand, and Vyas alleges that the platform misled fans and contributed to inflated ticket prices in the black market.

According to reports, both Hemrajani and the company’s technical head were summoned by the EOW to provide their statements regarding the matter. The summons requested their appearance on September 28, but neither complied, prompting the second notice.

Authorities have now asked Hemrajani and other executives to cooperate with the ongoing investigation and clarify their involvement in the alleged illegal ticket sales. The case has raised concerns about transparency and fairness in ticketing practices, especially for high-profile events like the Coldplay concert.
