According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Ravi Gama Disa, visited the Ethos Duty-Free store around 12:50 am and initially expressed interest in purchasing luxury watches. He selected and bought a TAG Heuer watch, demonstrating genuine intent to shop. However, during his visit, he allegedly stole a Frederique Constant watch valued at ₹94,500 while browsing additional items.
Later, Gama Disa selected three more watches for purchase but claimed he was in a rush to board his flight. During the billing process, he reportedly stole another Frederique Constant watch worth ₹2.37 lakh and left the store before completing the transactions.
The theft was reported to the police, who have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
This incident highlights the need for heightened vigilance at airport duty-free stores, particularly involving high-value merchandise. The investigation continues as authorities work to track down the accused.
