A wedding celebration turned into a distressing incident when a colour bomb malfunctioned, injuring an Indian-origin bride who had traveled from Canada for her wedding.
The couple, Vicky and Piya, had planned a vibrant photoshoot using decorative pyrotechnics to create a stunning backdrop. However, as Vicky lifted Piya for a picture, one of the devices malfunctioned and struck them directly instead of releasing a harmless burst of colour. The unexpected explosion left the bride with burns on her back.

A video shared by the couple on social media captured the mishap. The footage showed the dramatic moment when the colour bomb misfired, cutting short the joyful moment. The video also included a snippet from the hospital, where Piya’s injuries were visible.
Colour bombs, often used at weddings and celebrations, are designed to release coloured powder or smoke for visual effects. However, malfunctions like this highlight the risks associated with their usage.
The couple mentioned that they had also planned to include their baby in the shoot, which could have worsened the situation. The incident has sparked concern over the safety of such decorative devices, with many urging caution while using them at events.
Authorities have not yet commented on the mishap, but the incident serves as a reminder of the need for strict safety measures at celebrations.
