A British vlogger’s surprise at being able to receive freshly delivered food mid-journey while travelling on an Indian train has gone viral, drawing admiration from social media users across the globe. George Buckley, who was en route to Varanasi, shared his experience with his 45,000 Instagram followers, expressing astonishment at the level of convenience offered by India’s train food delivery system.

While stopped at Kanpur Central railway station, Buckley placed an order using Zomato, an official partner of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for e-catering services. The process was straightforward—he entered his 10-digit PNR number, selected his food, and had it delivered directly to his seat during the scheduled halt.

Buckley, who was travelling in the AC first-class compartment, received his meal promptly and paid just ₹345 for the service. He shared the meal with a co-passenger, praising the experience and urging the UK to take inspiration from India's convenience-driven systems. His video, captioned “The UK needs to take notes,” quickly amassed over half a million views and sparked thousands of reactions.
Social media users lauded India’s progress in the food delivery sector, particularly in rail travel, highlighting how seamlessly technology and infrastructure have merged to provide real-time convenience to passengers on the move.
