Pop superstar Britney Spears celebrated her 43rd birthday on December 2, 2024, with a legal milestone: the official recognition of her single status following her divorce from Sam Asghari.

The couple, who separated earlier this year, finalized their divorce settlement in May, but the legal dissolution of their marriage was officially recorded on Spears’ birthday, according to E! News.

The divorce was uncontested, meaning Spears and Asghari, 30, reached an agreement on the division of assets and other marital rights without conflict. The pair, who began dating in 2016 and married in June 2022, parted ways after just over a year of marriage when Asghari filed for divorce in August.

At the time, Asghari issued a public statement urging kindness and respect, saying, “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other, and I wish her the best always.”

Spears, who shares two sons—Sean, 19, and Jayden, 18—with ex-husband Kevin Federline, spoke candidly about the split on Instagram, admitting she was shocked but determined to stay strong. “I couldn’t take the pain anymore, honestly,” she wrote.

Despite the breakup, the former couple has shown no animosity. Spears fondly described Asghari as a “gift from God” in her memoir The Woman in Me. Meanwhile, Asghari has focused on his acting career, emphasizing positivity and resilience in the face of life’s changes.
