Industry experts share their views on Budget 2024
It helps attract more startups: Suresh Narasimhan
It has also reduced land litigation: Satish Nagaraj
Nirmala Sitharaman presented her 7th straight budget today. NewsFirst Prime got in touch with Suresh Narasimhan, a venture capitalist and sought his views on how it favours the startup sector.
He said, “They have abolished angel tax which was a requirement we had for 10-12 years. The EPF related policy recommendations are good. They should help attract more startups. Usually, there would be some guidelines, but this gives a policy direction. It is heartening to see there is a right focus. I rate it very highly.”
On the other hand, NewsFirst Prime also caught up with Satish Nagaraj, former president, Chamber of Commerce, Chitradurga to understand the budget in its various aspects.
He said, “Overall, it is a good budget. They want to reduce litigation which the industry was facing. They have also addressed middle-class issues. They have also looked into the housing sector. It looks good.”
Incidentally, her 7th straight budget is also the first in Modi 3.0. With the focus of the budget being youth empowerment and upskilling youngsters, she has also announced a slew of policies, including an internship programme to upskill youngsters.
However, critics point out that the budget was heavily biased in favour of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh.
