Bumrah to miss out on game against Nepal

Bumrah is set to miss India’s clash against Nepal scheduled on 4th September. Bumrah would be travelling back to Mumbai. Certain reports have indicated that he is expecting his first child with his wife Sanjana Ganesan who is also a presenter covering cricketing events. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that there is no issue with Bumrah as far as fitness is concerned and that he would join the squad provided India qualify for the Super-4 stages. 

His position in the squad would likely be taken by Mohammad Shami or Prasidh Krishna. 

Bumrah returned to the squad after a long break brought about my injury during India’s tour of Ireland. His performance was still impressive having got him the man of the match award in one of the games. This has rejuvenated India’s hopes for the World Cup as he’s a reliable option in the initial phases of the game and during the death overs. 

During India’s clash with Pakistan, he had made an important contribution with the bat as well. He was the 3rd highest run getter in India’s innings. His 16 runs in the fag end of the innings set the game up for an even contest in the 2nd innings before the match was disrupted by rain.
