A significant development has emerged in the case of alleged abusive language used by Council member C.T. Ravi against Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar during the Belagavi session. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has reportedly uncovered key evidence in its preliminary inquiry.

Forensic analysis of video footage provided by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) allegedly confirmed abusive language was used seven times during the four-hour recording. The CID has since sought a voice sample from C.T. Ravi to verify the speaker's identity. However, Ravi denied using obscene language and refused to provide a sample, prompting the CID to pursue legal means to obtain it.
In a broader investigation, the CID is examining multiple angles of the incident. Notices have been issued to other witnesses, including Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and MLC TT Srinivas. Both were reportedly present in the House when the incident occurred. TT Srinivas and Lakshmi Hebbalkar, elected from the teachers' constituency, were seated nearby, while Dr. Yathindra is also expected to provide a statement.
The CID’s ongoing probe underscores the gravity of the matter, with investigators determined to uncover the truth behind the allegations. Further updates are awaited as the case progresses.
