The Karnataka Bandh, scheduled for March 22, has garnered strong backing from various organizations, including transport unions and pro-Kannada groups. Led by veteran activist Vatal Nagaraj, the bandh has been called to protest issues related to land, water, and language.

The Nonda Chalakkar Vedike, representing 25,000 goods vehicle operators, has pledged full support. "We will not operate our vehicles across the state during the bandh," confirmed its president, Raju. Similarly, the Ola Uber Drivers’ Association has announced that ride-hailing services will be unavailable from 6 AM to 6 PM on Saturday. "Our drivers will fully support the bandh," stated association president Tanveer Pasha.

Pro-Kannada organizations have intensified their efforts to ensure the success of the bandh, citing concerns over alleged oppression by Marathi groups. To rally support, Vatal Nagaraj is leading a procession of open vehicles from Mysore Bank Circle, joined by prominent figures like Sara Govind and KR Kumar from the Auto Drivers’ Association.

The bandh, which remains just two days away, is expected to disrupt daily activities across Karnataka. With transport unions, cab services, and pro-Kannada activists joining hands, the shutdown is likely to have a significant impact.
