Cannes winner 'All We Imagine As Light' to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from January 3

Payal Kapadia's critically acclaimed film All We Imagine As Light, which won the 2024 Cannes Grand Prix, is set to debut on Disney+ Hotstar on January 3, 2025. The announcement was made through an Instagram post by the streaming platform, describing the film as "a movie you can't miss."

Kapadia expressed her excitement about the OTT release.

Set in Mumbai, the film explores the lives of nurse Prabha and her roommate Anu, with performances by Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, and Hridhu Haroon. Despite its critical success, the film struggled at the box office, grossing only ₹1.88 crore during its theatrical run, which began with a limited release in Kerala on September 21, followed by a nationwide release on November 29.

All We Imagine As Light had its world premiere on May 23, 2024, at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first Indian film in three decades to compete in the festival's main competition. In addition to its Cannes triumph, the film received two Golden Globe nominations for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and Best Director. It also earned a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film at the Critics Choice Awards.
