  • Tejas travelled to Tirupati on 24th January
  • The officials in the checkpost wanted sticker removed
  • No reason was provided for this restriction

A fan was stopped from visiting a temple on account of a sticker of late Sandalwood actor Puneet Rajkumar. A Puneet Rajkumar fan named Tejas  along with his family travelled from Bengaluru to Andhra Pradesh to visit Tirupati Tirumala Temple on January 24th in 2 Innova cars.

On the petrol tank of the cars was a sticker of Late actor Puneet Rajkumar. The officials in the checkpost were very clear that the sticker had to be removed in order for the vehicle to further proceed upwards in the hills. The family even tried to compromise by pasting a plain sticker over the Puneet Rajkumar sticker for the journey. However, this too was unacceptable to the officials. Furthermore, no reason was provided for this restriction. Whether such restrictions are in place for stickers of Tollywood and Bollywood superstars remains unclear.

This incident has resulted in outrage from a section of Puneet Rajkumar fans. “I am unable to understand. Is there a rule pertaining to this? If these are restrictions placed by the administration of the temple, it is unfortunate. It is everyone’s personal choice. This is not the function of checkposts. Puneet Rajkumar fans are also present in Andhra Pradesh. I demand an apology from the officials,” Avinash, a Puneet Rajkumar fan said.
