A case has been filed against Kotturu Manjunath, the MLA from the Kolar constituency, at the Banashankari police station following his controversial remarks about the Indian Army. Speaking to the media on May 16, 2025, Manjunath questioned the legitimacy of India’s military actions, specifically referring to the Indian Army’s operations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the "Operation Sindhoor." He alleged that the Indian Army's claims about destroying Pakistani militant and air bases were unsubstantiated, further stating that Indian jets were “flying aimlessly” and creating chaos.

His statements, which are being seen as an affront to the Indian Army’s integrity and national security, have sparked outrage across various sections of the public. Manjunath’s remarks, questioning the bravery and actions of the Indian armed forces, were perceived as anti-national and have hurt the sentiments of millions of Indians, particularly those who have supported the military’s operations against Pakistan-based militants.

The Bengaluru Nagarika Hakku Horata Samiti (R), through Ganesh Singh B, the Vice-President, filed a sedition and criminal case against the MLA at the Banashankari police station. The complaint highlights that Manjunath's words not only demeaned the valor of the Indian Army but also openly incited disrespect for the country. The organization has demanded immediate legal action under sedition and criminal laws against the MLA.

This development has drawn significant attention, with political figures and citizens alike urging for strict action against those who undermine the nation’s pride and sovereignty.
