The officers—Dayananda, Vikas Kumar, and Shekhar—faced action for alleged lapses in crowd control during the June 4 RCB victory celebrations, which turned into a tragic stampede. The approval was conveyed to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR), signaling the Centre’s support for disciplinary measures against those responsible.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Centre has also directed the state to initiate the process of charge-sheeting the officers within 30 days. The move comes amid mounting public criticism over the police’s handling of the high-profile event, which has now become one of the worst crowd-related tragedies in the city’s recent history.

The incident has sparked wider debate about crowd management and accountability during large-scale public events, especially those involving high-profile figures and massive attendance.
