The Indian government held an all-party meeting and briefed political leaders on Operation Sindoor, a precision military operation targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes were carried out in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians and subsequent shelling by Pakistan that claimed 13 more lives in Jammu and Kashmir.

At the meeting, leaders were informed about key targets hit, including Lashkar-e-Taiba’s headquarters in Muridke and Jaish-e-Mohammad-linked sites in Bahawalpur, Sialkot, and PoJK areas like Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bhimber. The operation, executed early Wednesday between 1:05 am and 1:30 am, involved the launch of 24 missiles in what officials described as a "measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible" response.

Before the meeting, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the evolving security scenario. Security preparedness was heightened nationwide with blackouts, air raid sirens, and evacuation drills.

JeM chief Masood Azhar admitted that ten of his family members were killed in the Indian missile strikes. Political leaders across party lines expressed solidarity with the armed forces, with Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi commending their bravery. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump urged calm and offered to mediate, calling for de-escalation between India and Pakistan.
