Rapper and music director Chandan Shetty is embroiled in controversy following allegations of plagiarism concerning his recently released track, Cotton Candy. Rock Star Yuvaraj, known for his 2018 hit Y Bull Party, has accused Shetty of copying the tune from his earlier work. Reports suggest Yuvaraj is preparing to file an official complaint, asserting that the melody of Cotton Candy mirrors his creation.

Released on December 27, 2024, Cotton Candy features Chandan Shetty alongside actress Sushmita Gopinath. The visually extravagant music video, directed by Shetty himself, has garnered significant attention, trending online and earning praise from fans. Shetty has described the song as a “special project,” stating that it was created in response to fan demand after a long musical hiatus.
Sushmita Gopinath, known for her work in Kannada and Telugu films, co-stars in the video, which marks another milestone in her career. Greeshma Gowda co-produced the project.
