The poster for Chandramukhi 2 was released by Lyca Productions on Twitter on Monday. It will be directed by P. Vasu who was also the director of the first instalment of the movie. Raghav Lawrence, ace choreographer and actor will don the role of Vettaiyan Raja. In the original film, Rajnikanth played the role of Dr Saravana who pretends to be Vettaiyan Raja to exorcise the spirit of Chandramukhi from Ganga, played by Jothika. Rumours have it that Raghav Lawrence would play the role of the actual Vettaiyan Raja. Furthermore, it is being said, national award winner Kangana Ranaut will essay the role of the court dancer, Chandramukhi. 

Vadivelu, Mahima Nambiar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Rao Ramesh, Vignesh, Ravi Maria, Suresh Menon and Subiksha Krishnan would also feature in the film. The poster has Raghav Lawrence walking down the stairs of a mansion, wearing royal silk attire. The vesti is purple in colour and the Lungi is green in colour.  A sly smile cuts across his face. 

It has been announced that the film would be releasing on Ganesh Chaturthi this year. This would be the 18th of September. The music for the film has been given by Oscar-awardee MM Keeravani. It will be released in 5 languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
