Directed by Laxman Utekar, the historical epic is based on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a subject that has struck a chord with audiences, particularly in Maharashtra. The strong response to the teaser and trailer translated into robust pre-sales, indicating a massive opening.
As of 10:30 am IST, Chhaava has amassed ₹5.85 crore gross in advance ticket sales, with ₹4.55 crore coming from Maharashtra alone. This regional dominance suggests an exceptionally strong first-day performance. The film's pre-sales have already outperformed Gully Boy’s estimated ₹4-5 crore advance booking, setting Chhaava on course to become the highest-grossing Valentine’s Day opener.
Furthermore, the film has overtaken Sky Force (₹3.82 crore) to register 2025’s highest Bollywood day 1 pre-sales. With two days remaining before release, advance bookings could climb to ₹10 crore or more.
Given its momentum, Chhaava is likely to deliver a record-breaking debut at the Indian box office, cementing its position as a major blockbuster.
