Earlier the hill station was open from 5 AM to 7 PM

Currently it is open from 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM

This change would be in effect for the months of October and November

P.N Ravindra, District Collector for Chikkaballapur notified a change in timings for tourists visiting the Nandi Hills. Earlier the hill station was open to visitors starting from 5 AM in the morning to 7 PM in the night. But as per the latest notification, the hill station would be open starting from 5:30 AM and would be closed at 6:30 PM in the evening. This change would be in effect for the months of October and November. The rationale behind the same is the change in the occurrence of sunrise and sunset in these months. Ideally, the visitors attempt to soak in these moments and even capture them on their cameras.

A major issue currently affecting the travel destination is traffic. A week before, Nandi Hills had witnessed a huge traffic jam due to an unprecedented number of vehicles in the stretch leading up to the hills. “There is utter chaos. The traffic movement should be regulated by the authorities. One must also think about the huge inconvenience faced by the locals of the region,” a user on X commented.
