The incident, which occurred in May 2022, has resurfaced and gone viral. Upon realizing the error, the conscientious employee immediately informed his deputy manager. The human resources department was notified, and the employee was asked to visit his bank to initiate the return of the excess funds.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn. Despite promising to rectify the error the next day, the employee failed to return the money. He ignored calls and WhatsApp messages from his employer. He later claimed he was asleep and thus unable to visit the bank. Shortly after, he resigned through his lawyer and has since been unreachable.

CIAL Alimentos has filed a criminal complaint against the former employee, accusing him of misappropriating funds. No arrests have been made so far.
