Among the injured is Prashanth, a school bus driver from Hulimavu. He described his experience as a "cinematic rescue," where he was pulled to safety by a stranger amidst the chaos. Prashanth sustained severe injuries, including a fractured arm and multiple contusions, rendering him unable to work. He expressed his distress, stating, "I called my mother to say I might not survive, but I was fortunate to make it." Prashanth, along with other victims, has appealed to the government for compensation and support.

In response, the government of Karnataka initially announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for each affected family. However, following public outcry, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah increased the amount to Rs 25 lakh per family. The government has also constituted a one-man inquiry commission under retired High Court judge John Michael Cunha to investigate the circumstances leading to the stampede. In addition, multiple FIRs have been registered, and officials such as secretary and treasurer from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) have resigned.

Authorities are under scrutiny for failing to implement adequate safety protocols during the high-profile public gathering. The public and victims' families continue to demand justice and accountability for the tragic loss of lives.
