CM Siddaramaiah congratulates Aditi Ashok for winning silver in Asian Games

Aditi Ashok won India its 7th medal in Golf and became the first woman from India to win a medal in the Asian Games after finishing 2nd. Aditi Ashok had a clear 7 point lead heading into the finals. She however lost out on the advantage after a double bogey in the 16th round with one of the balls heading into the lake. She had 4 bogeys in the final round in comparison to just one in the first three rounds. India’s team performance in the event placed them in the fourth spot. 

“Podium finish at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, although not the way I wanted to end with a disappointing final round. Yet, it’s a week I'll remember for good reasons including my career lowest round of 61 here at the beautiful West Lake International golf course and bagging the silver medal for my country,” Aditi Ashok posted on X formerly known as Twitter.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah congratulated her. “Congratulations to Kannadathi Aditi Ashok for having secured a silver medal at the Asian Games. Her achievement of becoming the first Indian woman athlete to win a medal in golf has made everyone in the country proud. I hope that your sporting career further flourishes and for more such achievements to be lined up your way,” Siddaramaiah expressed on X.
