Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah marked the Congress government's second anniversary with a fiery speech at the Sadhana Samavesha civic meeting in Hospet, listing his administration’s achievements and taking sharp aim at the BJP.

“Two years ago, we made 593 promises in our manifesto — a garden of peace for all communities,” he said. “Already, 242 promises have been fulfilled, and the rest will be completed in the next three years.” Siddaramaiah also highlighted the government’s flagship guarantee schemes — Shakti, Griha Jyoti, Anna Bhagya, Griha Lakshmi, and Yuva Nidhi — claiming they empowered people across social and economic lines.

“Unlike the BJP, we have walked the talk,” he declared, citing that his 2013 government had fulfilled 158 out of 165 promises, along with launching 30 new programs. In contrast, he said, the BJP made 600 promises in 2018 and “failed to deliver even 10%.”

He accused the BJP of fostering division and spreading falsehoods, stating, “The BJP knows no caste or creed — only how to create unrest.”

Siddaramaiah also hit out at the Centre, alleging step-motherly treatment towards Karnataka in the past two years. “We follow Ambedkar’s path — unity, equality, and fraternity,” he said.

The event was attended by LoP, Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, several MLAs and MPs, including Krishna Byre Gowda and Jameer Ahmed, who were praised for organizing the gathering.
