CM Siddaramaiah to meet PM Modi in Delhi

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are on their way to Delhi. They have sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They would also meet the Congress High Command to strategize for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

The duo reached Delhi on the night of December 18th. There are speculations that the internal surveys of the party indicate room for improvement. The names for the new president of the KPCC will be presented in the meeting for contemplation. 

Siddaramiah would meet Modi at 11 AM on 19th December. This would be their second meeting after Siddaramiah took oath as the Chief Minister in May 2023. A prominent focus of the meeting would be the situation of drought faced in 223 of he 236 talks in Karnataka. Siddaramiah is anticipated to request a grant of Rs 4633.12 crore from the Centre with the estimated loss caused by the drought calculated to be Rs 33,770.10 crore. To expand the scope of work within the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) would be another topic of discussion. The State component of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) would also be an issue in the meeting. The implementation of some central government would be planned.
