Concerned parents flood Bengaluru top cop with appeals over rising student drug access

As drug-related cases continue to rise across Bengaluru, concerned parents are now turning to the city’s top police official for urgent intervention. With drugs reportedly making their way into the hands of students and young tech professionals, the anxiety among families has reached a boiling point.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has been receiving numerous appeals from parents across the city, urging stricter action and protection for their children. Many fear that the easy availability of narcotics could lead to addiction and long-term consequences for the younger generation.

Police investigations have uncovered an alarming trend — narcotics are being supplied through multiple networks, with increased circulation in areas around educational institutions and tech hubs. Law enforcement officials have launched multi-dimensional probes and intensified surveillance to dismantle these networks.

In response, city police have directed station-level officers to take drug cases seriously and act swiftly. Commissioner Singh has also called on schools and colleges to raise awareness among students and actively participate in anti-drug campaigns.

Police have already conducted raids in several areas, seizing illegal substances and arresting key suspects involved in distribution. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
