SRH, who began their IPL 2025 campaign with a record-breaking 286-run performance against Rajasthan, have since struggled. With 5 losses in their first 7 matches, the team’s form has dipped drastically, and leadership questions have emerged. Reports suggest that captain Pat Cummins has travelled back to Australia with his wife, though the franchise has not issued an official statement.

Rebecca Cummins posted a photo from Mumbai Airport with the caption, "Goodbye India… We would love to visit this wonderful country again." Pat Cummins appears in the image, leading to speculation that he has indeed left India during a crucial phase of the tournament.

The sudden development has triggered debates on who could take over the captaincy if Cummins is unavailable for the remaining seven matches. Wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen, known for his T20 prowess, is a strong contender. Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has also been mentioned as a possible replacement. Interestingly, Ishan Kishan’s name has surfaced in some discussions, although he is not part of the SRH squad.

An official update is expected ahead of SRH’s next fixture. Until then, uncertainty looms over the team’s leadership and direction.
