Congress High Command seeks report of scams during BJP’s rule in Karnataka in meeting with state leaders

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) alliance’s procession headed to Mysuru has entered its third day. Former Chief Minister of Karnataka H.D Kumaraswamy had joined the procession on its second day.

 The Indian National Congress (INC) high command has now entered the scene in light of these developments. They have initiated a movement of sorts of their own. The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) K.C Venugopal and the General Secretary of the Indian National Congress Randeep Surjewala held a meeting with leaders from Karnataka. They sought information pertaining to scams that took place during the BJP government’s rule. The bitcoin scam, the PSI recruitment scam and irregularities with funds allocated during the Covid-19 pandemic were brought up during the meeting.

Reports indicate that the Congress high command held the state leadership to task about not initiating action against the leaders accused of corruption. It is also being said that the high command was not content over the silence of most legislators with regard to the accusations which is believed to have shifted the onus of responding to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Congress leaders have been tasked with creating a broader outreach among people to spread awareness about the misdeeds of the BJP government during their regime.
